When the sea conditions are right, Mullet Bay Beach St Maarten is a surfers paradise. Mullet Bay Beach is just down the road from the island’s famous plane spotting area, Maho Beach and next to the only 18-hole golf course on St Maarten. The landscape is made up of a large white sand beach, with slow rolling curls of waves coming into the beautiful, moon shaped bay, making it the perfect destination for local surfers. You can expect to see a fair few students enjoying time on Mullet Bay Beach St Maarten as the medical university is within walking distance of the bay.

Towards the southern end of Mullet Bay Beach, a variety of trees provide pleasant shade for those who wish to take a break from the hot afternoon sun. A scattering of lounge chairs and umbrellas dotted along the shore are available for sunbathers. If you find yourself getting hungry mid morning, there are local Lolo’s (snack bars) along the beach where you can buy hot dogs and burgers, alongside an ice cold drink.

Mullet Bay Beach St Maarten is one of the prettiest beaches on the island. Its picture perfect beach is long and wide, with plenty of room for everyone, without feeling overcrowded. It’s not uncommon to see locals cooking on their barbecues some evenings, settling down for a family picnic on the beach whilst listing to music in a nearby bar. Beach facilities include volleyball nets and a car park which is right next to Mullet Bay Beach, making access to the bay very easy.

Occasionally there can be a rip current in the bay and the waves can be strong. We advise swimming or surfing with a partner and be extra cautious when in the sea here.

The sunsets witnessed from this beach are stunning and something of an attraction. On a clear day, neighbouring island Saba can be seen out on the horizon.
