Colombier St Martin

Away from the pristine beaches, luxury resorts and exquisite restaurants that line the island’s shores, lies a hidden village deep in the mountains. Colombier St Martin is a place not many visitors know about. The rich, tropical jungle in this mountainous area of Saint Martin is breath-taking. It is here where you will find the highest point of the island, Pic Paradis, which you are free to climb and explore at your leisure.

There is little to do in Colombier, but the varying local flora is so different from the rest of the island that it’s well worth a detour visit. Plus a hike up to the highest point is well worth the effort if you are looking for some light exercise.

Close to Colombier St Martin there is a former plantation area which has since been turned into a private nature reserve and sanctuary, Loterie Farm. Loterie Farm is a secret hideaway nestled in the hillside of Pic Paradis where you can wine, dine, climb, hike and glide over the treetop canopy on a zip line. It is truly an eco-tourism and gastronomical experience you’re not likely to forget or find elsewhere. Enjoy a spot of lunch or dinner with friends and family at the sanctuary. Play Tarzan through the tree tops with the kids. Join a guided hike up Pic Paradis or simply enjoy a relaxing afternoon in a hammock with a good book. The choice is yours.
