French Saint Martin

Grand Case Airport
Grand Case Regional Airport (CCE) is a slightly smaller airport than Princess Juliana International Airport. It is situated along the northwest coast and although modest in size, accommodates several airline companies whom all have daily flights arriving and departing from the island. There are regular international flights from this airport to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, among others. It’s also possible to fly to other nearby French islands from here, including St Barths, Goudaloupe and Martinique. In-land flights within the French territory, make travel to and from these particular places quick and easy.
Architecture
The architecture on this side of the island is breath-taking. Take a leisurely stroll around the streets of French Saint Martin. Notice that traditional Creole buildings prevail on this side of the island. In both Marigot and Grand Case, these elaborately-decorated and brightly coloured homes stand proud in the streets. Bold chiseled wood decorations and unique style make them stand out from the rest. Apparently the structures are able to withstand strong hurricanes because of their unique design. No room is larger than 3 x 6 meters, which makes them strong and solid. The two and three storey buildings still stand today in Marigot.
