Friars Bay Beach St Martin

A few miles north of French St Martin’s capital Marigot, lays a small, family oriented beach called Friars Bay Beach St Martin. It is also referred to as “Anse des Peres” on occasions. Friars Bay Beach St Martin is protected from the swells and surf, has calm waters and a fair amount of sand, making it ideal for families with young children. From the shore there is a great view of the neighbouring British island Anguilla. Friars Bay Beach faces west and is a fantastic spot for sunset. With a distinctive laid-back vibe and a friendly atmosphere, you will feel right at home here. The beach rarely gets busy, especially during the week.

Situated at either end of the bay, there are two main beach bar restaurants. Friars Bay Beach Café is known for its French fare and excellent service. The café is also known for hosting some wonderful theme nights, private parties and live music events, which are suitable for the whole family to enjoy. The second restaurant bar, Kali’s Beach Bar, has been in business for many years on Friars Bay Beach St Martin and is a huge hit with its reggae island vibe. Sample their daily catch of the day dish or sip on a delicious cocktail as you dance on the beach at sunset, before strolling back to your accommodation. If you are more of a night owl, dance until the early hours under a blanket of stars at one of Kali’s legendary Full Moon parties. They’re not to be missed!

To reach Friars Bay Beach St Martin, take the main Nationale 7 from Marigot towards Grand Case. A few miles from Marigot you will pick up signs for Friars Bay, which will take you off left onto a dirt road. Although suitable for any vehicle, the road can get a little bumpy in places towards the end.
