Anse Marcel Beach St Martin

Anse Marcel Beach St Martin lies to the very North of the island. This magnificent beach is well sheltered, as it is protected from both sides by two steep hills. Anse Marcel Beach St Martin is a pleasant upscale beach with a side order of chic, ideal for couples and families. It is nestled in a beautiful tropical bay, protected from the swells. In general the Leeward beaches to the West and Southwest are the calmest. But as Anse Marcel Beach St Martin is well protected by its flanks, it is usually a very calm beach not exposed to the Atlantic. The shallow and calm water makes it ideal for families with children.

The entrance of the marina is located in a channel that extends further inland around the RIU resort. 9 meters wide and 3 meters deep, it is not the most accessible place for a marina and it requires a lot of attention from the Yacht Charter Skipper, not to mention that it significantly reduces the size of the Yachts that can moor there. Once you cross the narrow channel, you enter the marina which is very well protected from any kind of sea current or dangerous winds.

Although Anse Marcel Beach St Martin is open to the public, one part of the beach is at the former Radisson hotel that has been converted into the RIU resort which opened in 2014. The other side of the beach is in front of Le Domaine Hotel, this area is well known for having hosted the meeting between former French President Mitter and and former US President Bush senior. The various beach restaurants and bars offer snacks, meals and ice cold cocktails served at their very relaxing and casual beach cabanas. You can also rent beach chairs and umbrellas and cruise the bay on one of the jet skis that are for rent. When you drive the road over the mountain, coming either from Grand Case beach or Orient Bay, do not forget your camera as the drive offers some breathtaking views. You can’t reach the beach by car. Leave your car on the free parking and stroll about 200m towards the beach. There are signs indicating the way.
