Parasailing Over St Martin
There’s so much to do and see on the island, but I personally think Parasailing over St Martin should defiantly be up there at the top of your bucket list!
Nothing quite compares to flying above the sea… well almost flying. Parasailing as an adventure sport has been around for more than 25 years. Now more than ever before more and more people are discovering the pleasures of parasailing. It’s great fun and will certainly get your adrenaline pumping.
A parasail is basically a tethered parachute. Parasailing is either done on land or over water. The parasail is attached to a long tow rope that is pulled behind a boat, car, truck or jeep. Here on St Martin / St Maarten there are a number of schools across the island who will provide you with all the gear and advice you will need to experience parasailing over St Martin.
You the boat you will sit in a harness alongside one other person, which is attached to the parachute. Once the boat is moving the wind will take you up to 30 – 50 ft above sea. The parachute will hold you safely in the air. Start and landing is normally on the boat, however, it has been known for the instructors to give you a quick refreshing dip in the sea before returning to the boat! It is much easier to do than it sounds.
Once you are up in the air you’ll have plenty of time to take in the birds eye view of the island. From up there everything seems to move in slow motion and it’s extremely peaceful. The crystal clear waters reflect from green to blue as you glide over head. The perception of flying is magnificent making this trip a great experience.
I truly enjoyed my experience parasailing over St Martin and would highly recommend it for almost all ages
